Failure causes and troubleshooting methods of rotary joints

Reason 1: The concentricity between the hollow shaft and the mating rotating body is insufficient. Countermeasures: Check the dimensions and accuracy, and adjust the fixed connection with the rotating body.

 


Reason 2: Low precision of the assembly machine (large end face perpendicularity, radial, and axial clearances), resulting in high vibration. Countermeasures: Identify the cause and repair the assembly equipment.

 


Reason 3: Foreign objects such as sludge and dirt enter the contact surface of the friction pair. Countermeasures: Add a filter screen or a dirt remover, and modify the type of rotary joint.

 


Reason 4: The use of pressure, temperature, speed, etc. exceeds the range of the selected rotary joint. Countermeasures: Conduct research on the operating conditions, consult with research institutions or manufacturers, and modify the type of rotary joint.

 


Reason 5: Failure to add lubricating grease at the prescribed time, and failure to replace the lubricating grease during high-temperature use, leading to abnormal noise or damage of the ball bearing. Countermeasures: Regularly add or replace lubricating grease according to the usage regulations, and replace the bearing.

 


Reason 6: The friction surface of the sealing friction pair is deformed, and the wear amount of the compensation ring is relatively large. Countermeasures: Grind the friction surface or replace the spare parts when there are abnormalities.

 


Reason 7: Deformation, aging, cracking, and sticking of the auxiliary sealing ring. Countermeasures: Replace the auxiliary sealing component with a new one.

 


Reason 8: Bellows rupture or damage. Countermeasures: Analyze the cause and replace with a new elastic element.

 


Reason 9: The concentricity between the compensation ring grinding eccentric part and the idle shaft is insufficient. Countermeasures: In addition to installing hangers and supports, strengthen the acceptance inspection of product parts
